Who is Echo Music Therapy?

Clare Burtchaell MA MT, NMT, BA(Hons).  Founder of Echo Music Therapy

Clare Burtchaell is a qualified music therapist/neurologic music therapist and is accredited by the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT). She holds a master's degree in music therapy from the University of Limerick. She is also a qualified neurologic music therapist through the International Neurologic Music Therapy Training Institute. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in music and history from University College Cork. Clare has a broad range of experience in the music therapy field.  She has worked in mental health facility, with older adults with dementia and provided mindful-music therapy sessions for stress relief to students in the University of Limerick. She has worked in many different facilities that provide care for people with disabilities. She is currently working in Cumas New Ross, Brothers of Charity and Abbey Community College with adolescents and adults with intellectual/physical disabilities. She is also currently working in Bunscoil Rís Edmund Rice Senior School and the Drum Youth Centre with children and teens to support their mental health. She also takes referrals from TUSLA and the South West Wexford School Completion Programme and engages in private practice. Clare has given lectures in the Waterford teacher's Centre on music activities that promote the learning of life skills. Clare is also qualified to teach 'The Decider Skills' to clients. These are cognitive behaviour therapy techniques used to teach people how to recognise their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours, enabling them to monitor and manage their own emotions and mental health.  Clare is a multi-instrumentalist with a broad knowledge of different genres of music. She is also proficient in studio recording and the use of music production softwares.
